Calendar of Events:

April 4th 2009            10th Annual Margarita Madness
Margarita Madness is an annual event that takes place at South Padre Island at Schlitterbahn Water Park. The guests attending the event donate clothing, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, and stuffed animals for Monica’s closet and Maggie’s closet. These items will supply the center to help the children get ready for back to school and throughout the school year. The guests also donate gift certificates from different local stores (i.e. Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, H.E.B., Office Depot, Staples, Payless Shoe Source, Home Depot, Target, and Michaels). These gift certificates help us provide victims and their non-offending family members with resources to help meet their needs. 

March 26th 2009            2nd Annual Sport Celebrity Waiter Dinner Fundraiser
The 2nd annual Sport Celebrity Dinner with specials guests, Walt Garrison #8, former Dallas Cowboys Player, Mel Rentfro #20, former Dallas Cowboy Player, Robet Newhouse #44, Former Dallas Cowboy Player, George Gervin #44 "Ice Man", former San Antonio Spurs Player, 2 beautiful Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. This event helped us to raise funds for CCCAC to help continue helping the most vulnerable people in our community, our children. 

April 1st 2009             13th Annual Candlelight Vigil
Our annual candlelight vigil and walk of remembrance is done in honor of children who lost their life due to child abuse and neglect. It takes place during the month of April also known as Child Abuse Prevention Month.

August 23rd 2008        12th Annual Gala
Our annual gala is a very important event for CCCAC. We are extremely appreciative with all the contributions received at this event as it helps to sustain the centers and the valuable programs and services.

In-house Activities

January 2009    Dia de los Reyes celebration toy give a way for the victims and their siblings

February 2009        Valentine’s treats for the victims and their siblings

March 2009    Easter baskets filled with treats for the victims and their siblings.

April 2009    Dia de los niños (Day of the Children) celebration - Treats and activity books give away

August 2009        Back to school supplies for the victims and their siblings.
 
October 2009   Halloween goodie bags for the victims and their siblings.

November 2009   Thanksgiving baskets filled with a turkey and fillings for the most needed families we serve in Cameron County

December 2009    Christmas party consisting of a toy drive, a visit from Santa Clause, picture with Santa, goodie bags, and food for the victims and their siblings. Christmas luncheon for MDT members.

 
Additionally, the therapists at Maggie’s House and Monica’s House hold teenage and mothers support groups throughout the year to help our child victims become survivors.
